Bear Proof your cooler with BearBolts. BearBolts are adjustable and fit the most common IGBC-rated coolers on the market. With our keyless bear proof lock, you can easily access your food and drinks without worrying about bear intrusions. We have designed it with quick-release technology, making it easy to install or remove in seconds, compared to the hassle of using a padlock.

At BearBolts, I have tested to ensure they meet the specific needs of most coolers, making them unique compared to cylindrical or cubic locks that simply won't work. Our flat-sided locks allow a perfect fit for even the tightest cooler geometry, while the oblong side ensures the receiver cannot pull through bottle openers found on many coolers. BearBolts are precision machined from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, making it ideal for use in extreme weather conditions and ensuring it will last a lifetime.

Each BearBolt comes with a lanyard to securely fasten the lock to the cooler handles or anywhere else to ensure you do not lose them. The first-run production samples come in the red-orange color shown with a stretch goal to unlock other colors. This bright color lets you see at a glance the lock condition of your cooler.

BearBolts are made from precision machined 17-4 stainless steel and hardened stainless ball bearings. The receiver is machined from corrosion-resistant 304 stainless steel, providing the highest level of quality and strength required for this application.

Use of BearBolts prevents bears from accessing human food, which is vital for a thriving bear population and the coexistence of bears and humans. When bears become food conditioned, they lose their natural foraging behaviors and pose a threat to human safety. Proper food storage prevents this tragic outcome.
